PrettyLittleThing, on the 3rd of February, introduced its first virtual model ambassador. The digital model named Luna will model clothes on the fashion giant's website.

Calling it a member of its PLT family, Luna, was designed to bridge the gap between the metaverse and real life. According to PLT, the digital character will continually evolve and showcase a range of emotions to remain relatable and interact with customers.
In a press release, Toni Hayden, PLT’s creative director said, “We want to make our girl as relatable and real to our customers as possible. We will build her lifestyle based on our customer's interests, likes, and dislikes”.

Unfortunately, not many customers are keen on the idea of a digital model, expressing concerns about virtual models taking the jobs of real people.

It should be noted, however, that virtual influencers are relevant because they provide fashion brands with complete control of the image they portray to their audience. Virtual models would never go off-script and are completely customizable unlike, real influencers that may go off-script.
