Apps that Mastered Fashion Tech

AR Shopping App: Vogue Business

In 2021, we are seeing more and more daily activities becoming virtual. With COVID, we were forced to find different ways to communicate and frankly, live without jeopardizing our safety and health.

Most notably, the fashion industry has made great advancements in technology. Prior to 2021, technology and fashion were not really seen as hand-in-hand concepts. Now, technology has taken the fashion industry to entirely new heights. Like us at YOC, many other entrepreneurs have leapt into the fashion technology world.

Fashion technology can present itself in multiple ways and services. The app Intelistyle, created in London, is all about styling. It allows users to browse outfits online while merging them with their own images. The app also has a recommendation feature that suggests outfits based on the customers’ interests.

A similar app, Genostyle categorized thousands of products into 15 categories or “style genomes.” Customers can learn statistically what their style is down to the percentage they skew from each genome. Genostyle takes statistics and creates a service that helps customers to dress their best. Both of these apps make the trouble and stress of finding the perfect outfit, a thing of the past.

Another use of fashion technology is making a company or market more sustainable. Hurr Collective is working to do just that. This app is a community of fashion lovers and entrepreneurs who share and manage their clothing. By sharing clothing, waste is greatly reduced. Users can access quality clothing while making money!

Technology has revolutionized and immensely improved the fashion industry.
